Over mij

Francine Bisscheroux werd geboren in 1964. Ze studeerde aan de Stadsacademie te Maastricht. Voltooide zowel de richting plastische vormgeving als monumentale vormgeving. Verwierf stipendia van de Luxemburgse(1984) en de Oostenrijkse regering (1985). Na het afsluiten van diverse opleidingen in de lastechnieken werkzaam als lasser in een constructiebedrijf en als lasinstructeur. Van 1992-1998 lid van de kunstcommissie van Hellevoetsluis. Als lid en mentor heeft zij de selectie, voorbereiding en realisatie van diverse monumentale kunstwerken in de gemeente begeleid. In 1993 samen met omwonenden het pleintje aan de Vuurdoorn in Hellevoetsluis opgesierd. In 1994 mozaïekzuil met keramiek en kikker gerealiseerd mede in het kader van de sociale vernieuwing te Hellevoetsluis. In 1995 opgetreden in het AVRO televisieprogramma ‘Kunst te Kijk’. Voor de kijkers prijsvraag kocht de AVRO een zeefdruk (vissen) en een serie van 12 zeefdrukken (portret). Tijdens de uitzending maakte zij alternatieve verkeersdrempels, samen met buurtbewoners. In 1996 een opdracht van de Woonstichting Volkshuisvesting en Gemeente Hellevoetsluis tot het realiseren van vier gevelmozaïeken van in totaal 63 m² met tegelfragmenten, glas en keramische vormen aan het Molbord. Voltooid op 9 oktober. Dit samen met de bewoners van de wijk.

In 1999 opdracht van de Woningbouwvereniging Leiden tot het realiseren van een gevel mozaïek van 16m² aan de Callandstraat, aparte mozaïek plaquettes onder de straatnaamborden en mozaïektegels. Dit in samenwerking met de buurtbewoners. In 2000 in opdracht voor de Theo Kwanten school te Hellevoetsluis tot het realiseren van een groot mozaïek ganzenbord op het schoolplein. Dit samen met de drie hoogste groepen van de school. In totaal 64 tegels. In 2002 start van de beeldengroep “de Burgers van de Steenhoek” in de nieuwbouwwijk Ravense Hoek te Hellevoetsluis. De drie zuilen zijn in samenwerking met drie betrokken scholen augustus 2003 opgeleverd. Na 2003 ook actief met keramiekbeelden en kinderportretten. In 2006/2007 leidt Francine verscheidene leerlingen op in de mozaïektechniek. In oktober 2007 wordt de 6-meter lange mozaïekbank, de Heeren van Voorne bank onthuld. De bank gaat over de vondsten uit de12de eeuw die men opgroef in 1993. Francine betrekt 125 basisschoolleerlingen en 25 beroepsonderwijsleerlingen bij haar bank. Zij leggen het mozaïek en helpen met het bevestigen van het mozaïek.

Uit het boek: “De kunst van het graven, Ravense Hoek” Momenteel geeft Francine les aan de beroepsopleiding AKA(arbeidsmarkt gekwalificeerd assistent) van het Albeda College. Veel leerlingen behalen voor het eerst in hun carrière een diploma. Francine geeft lassen, techniek en algemene vorming. Francine betrekt politiek, gemeenten, scholen met leerlingen en buurten bij haar mozaïeken. In juni 2008 maakt Francine op uitnodiging van Turkije in de stad Bandirma een gevelmozaïek. Dit doet zij samen met haar AKA-leerlingen en studenten van een middelbare school uit Bandirma. Eerder in februari exposeerde Francine met een groep van 8 vrouwen in Istanbul o.l.v. Yasemin Sozer Sarac. Zij legden samen contacten bij het consulaat te Istanbul.


Francine Bisscheroux was born in 1964.  She attended the Maastricht City Academy (Stadsacademie te Maastricht), where she majored fulltime in both Graphic Design and Monumental Sculptural Design. With grants from the Luxembourg (1984) and Austrian (1985) governments she gained qualifications in various welding techniques, enabling her to work in the construction industry as a welder and as a qualified instructor. From 1992 to 1998 she was a member of the Art Commission of Hellevoetsluis.  As a member and mentor she shared responsibility for the selection, preparation and realization of diverse monumental works of art within the community. In 1993, with the participation of the neighborhood, the Vuurdoorn Street Square in Hellevoetsluis was artistically embellished. In 1994, a mosaic and ceramic pillar, crowned with a large ceramic frog was jointly erected under the framework of social reinvigoration in Hellevoetsluis. In 1995, she appeared on the AVRO television program “Art To See” (Kunst Te Kijk).  For the viewers prize question AVRO purchased a silk screen print (fish) and a series of 12 silk screen prints (portraits).  During the program Francine is shown making alternative speed bumps with the neighborhood inhabitants. In 1996, a commission from the housing foundation (Woonstichting Volksvesting) and the city council of Hellevoetsluis for the creation of four wall mosaics with a total size of 62 square meters.  The mosaics included tile fragments, glass, and ceramic forms.  Located in the Molbord neighborhood and created with the local inhabitants.  Completed on October 9th.

In 1999, a commission from the Leiden housing  Construction association (Wooningbouw Vereniging Leiden) for the creation of a wall mosaic, measuring 16 square meters, in the Calland street (Calland Straat), separate mosaic plaques under street names signs and mosaic tiles.  Created with the help of the neighborhood. In 2000, a commission for the primary school, Theo Kwanten in Hellevoetsluis.  The creation of a large mosaic in the form of a children’s game (ganzenbord) on the school playing grounds.  In total 64 tiles.  Made with the help from the three higher classes. In 2002 the start of the image group “the citizens from the stone hook” (de Burgers van de Steenhook) in the newly built neighborhood of Raven’s Hook (ravense Hoek) in Hellevoetsluis.  Three pillars created with the help of three local schools.  Completed in August 2003. After 2003 active with ceramic sculpture and children’s portraits.’ In 2006 and 2007 Francine led students in learning mosaic techniques. In October of 2007 the 6 meter long mosaic bench “the gentlemen from Voorne” was un veiled.  The bench is representative of the artifacts from the 12th century that were revealed during excavation in 1993.  The creation of this bench involved 125 primary school children and 25 students in occupational higher education.  They helped with the placement and attachment of the mosaics. Currently Francine is giving lessons in occupational education, AKA (qualified assistant) at the Albeda College.  Many students achieve diplomas for the first time in their careers.  Francine teaches welding techniques and general education. Through her mosaics Francine furthers positive communication and involvement  with politics, government, schools, students and neighborhoods. In February 2008 Francine held an exhibition with 8 other women, including Yasemin Sozer Sarac in Istanbul.  They made contact with the consulate in Istanbul.
